Andi’s Magical Solution to Skin & Coat Problems

What to Expect: Dramatic changes in your pet’s skin and coat! You will notice less shedding and scratching and watch a dull coat begin to glow. Allergy symptoms become a thing of the past and you can be sure your pet is on its way to a life free of expensive and dangerous cortisone shots, prednisone and steroids.

Essential fatty acids are indispensable nutrients your pet’s body cannot produce and are solely derived from the foods they consume. These “good fats” as they have come to be called, play critical roles in both energy production and cellular membrane health throughout the body. EFA’s are vital for the normal growth and functioning of all muscles, nerves and organs. Since the skin is the largest organ in the body, EFA’s are especially important for pets with skin problems and supplementing them can be highly beneficial for all pets. Symptoms of EFA deficiency or imbalance include itchy, scaly skin, excessively dry hair or hair that falls out in patches, cracked paws, split claws, fatigue, weakness, frequent infections, allergies, hyperactivity, poor digestion and obesity.

Key culprits in all those skin problems our pets seem to suffer from are dry foods. Think about it: “dry food” is not a misnomer. It has less than 10 percent moisture and mostly consists of coarsely ground grain in the form of pellets. It may start with decent enough ingredients, but it’s cooked at very high temperatures and then dried into hard nuggets. Even the natural brands can be baked at such high temperatures that the beneficial fats and oils (critical to the coat, skin and overall health) break down during the process and are rendered useless or even harmful. If it’s hard, dry and crunchy, how is it going to provide beneficial oils to the body? Let’s face it, there’s no such thing as a “kibble tree” in the wild! It does not take a rocket scientist to understand that dry foods can cause many hair and coat issues. Even if you do nothing but add essential fatty acids to your pet’s diet, (regardless of the food you choose), you’ll see miraculous changes in its skin and coat, often in the first five days.

Because everything is connected, the outside of the body is a direct reflection of the inside and by adding the proper oils to your pet’s diet; you’ll start to see magical changes. The longer you use it, the healthier they become. You’re assisting overall body function and promoting a stronger immune system every day.

You can make my simple >Recipe for A Beautiful Coat yourself – for the most complete EFA formula ever created for your pet’s healthy skin, coat and immune system!

  1. Andi,
I just began using this today. I was making it myself prior to this. I will let you know about Moe’s progress as your product appears to contain ingredients that do not exsist in the homemade receipt. I truly appreciate all of the information you have made available so guys like Moe can get better.

    Susan

    1. Oh Susan, please do keep us all posted on Moe’s progress. The Best In Coat formula is a lot different than the homemade version. Not many people would want to take the time to find all 14 oils that make up the “ready-made” product. It’s spectacular though and I know you’ll be getting great results! xoxo

      1. Hi Andi

I am in Australia, just bought your book and would like to buy the Best in Coat oil, do you know where can I find it?
My cat is licking herself non stopping…And your online recipe is a little different from the one on the book, one has salmon oil the other has soya oil, I am a little bit unsure on preparing the oil myself, and would like to avoid flaxseed if possible. Thanks

        1. Hi Maxine,
We are no longer producing any products commercially. Sorry, but you will have to make the oils yourself. I no longer recommend soy oil, and I do like/prefer the one online. You may opt to omit the flax oil if you are uncomfortable with it. If your cat is licking non stop… my guess is that the food you are feeding is causing the problem. The best bet is to start making the food immediately. You may not even need the oils if you use the food as her new lifestyle. Please keep us posted on her progress. As you may know by now, I DO NOT recommend ANY commercial pet foods, ever. xxo

          1. Thank you Andi, I already cooked some food from your book and she loves it! Just one more question. Do you recommend a little bit of Himalayan salt daily for cat arthritis?

  2. As soon as my cats were hooked on your food – which was instantly for most of them – I began putting Best of Coat in their dishes first, followed by the Chicken Stew, over which I break up pieces of the chicken treats. They’re so into gobbling up the food that by the time they’ve licked the dishes clean I don’t think they even realize they’ve ingested the additional oils. It worked with every one of my little gang.

    1. I’m so very happy to hear your wonderful news. Your cats have obvious good taste:) Now you can step back and watch the magic take place. I can’t say enough great things about this diet and the program. I’m watching my own cat blossom with better health every day! Thank you for your wonderful input. xox Andi

  3. my 90 lb. black female lab. has a allergy to something yet to be determined ; currently on antibiotics, to help control escessive itching/licking; not sure if it,s food or airborne allergy;she seems to be producing large amounts of yeast. I asked the vet why???

    1. Patrick, your dog’s problem is one that we hear about a hundred times a week. It’s ALL ABOUT THE FOOD you’re using.. Dry food is so problematic and is devoid of oils. Please use the Best In Coat to begin with, and if you can change the food to my homemade stew recipe.. I believe that you will see an enormous difference right away. You can use a combination of homemade food along with my Doc’s Stew.. or just use Doc’s Stew. Food is the foundation of health. Change the diet.. change the pet.. You will see! Keep us posted! xox Andi

  4. Previously we had been using Halo Dream Coat, but some of the oils concerned me so I stopped using it. Ran into your website and read the list of oils in Best In Coat and decided to make the switch. The oils in Best In Coat are fantastic and I am thrilled to have found it. I feed all three of my long haired doxies cooked food and we just had our second dose of your product tonight. Will keep you updated on progress! Thanks and God bless.

    1. Hi Jennifer, I’m so glad that you love the oils. We’ve taken such care to make sure that each and every one of them are healthy and support the body’s ability to function better. Please keep us all posted! You should be able to give your pets a new coat for Christmas this year:) xoxox

  5. I have used this product for two months. My dogs are better but have had a great deal of shedding, especially the under, soft hair. Still itching but not as much, also chewing less than before. I will continue to try this product in hopes of better times in the winter with this problem.

    1. Hi… That they are showing signs of improvement is wonderful.. Rome wasn’t built in a day and all things take time. Switching the food to homemade or Doc’s Stew will make an even bigger difference. The more you do… the better it gets. xox

  6. Hi Andi,

I am having a terrible time with mosquito bites for me and my poor cats. they are an indoor cats for most of the day but they need and love their time in the garden everyday for 2-3 hours. i have noticed small red bites on them with a little bit of hair loss around the area. what can i do to prevent the bites? and what form of treatment should i use? do you recommend a de-wormer? any specific brand? i read the brewers yeast is good and garlic supplement what is your take on that? Thank you so much.

    1. I can’t imagine that they are mosquito bites. Sounds more like mites. You can try a bit of topical oils on a small patch and smother the mites (if that is what they are). If you can’t get them under control… it may be time to have the vet take a peek! xoxox

  7. HOW MANY CALORIES ARE IN THE CHICKEN STEW FOR DOGS W/ ROLLED OATS ADDED. MY 9 YEAR OLD BEAGLE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH MAIN STEM BRONCHI COLLAPSE AND MUST GET WEIGHT OFF TO HELP WITH COUGHING. HE WEIGHS 33 AND SHOULD WEIGH 22. NOT VERY ACTIVE DUE TO HIS MEDICAL CONDITION. I HAVE BEEN FEEDING THE CHICKEN STEW FOR 1 WEEK. 1 CUP MORNING AND 1 CUP EVENING ALONG WITH THE OILS. NEED TO KNOW CALORIE COUNT TO MAKE SURE I AM FEEDING THE RIGHT AMOUNT. I WILL BE WEIGHING HIM SOON. THANKS FOR YOUR LOVE OF ANIMALS AND THE GREAT BOOK.

    1. Hi Elaine, Don’t put so much emphasis on how many calories the stew contains. What you should be observing is higher energy levels, a beautiful coat, happier disposition and a trim and toned body. There has never been an overweight dog on my healthy diet and you will find the correct amount to feed. Use your senses. Every dog has different nutritional needs when it comes to how much to feed. Depending on the age, the CLIMATE, season, and exercise levels.. all of these things will come into play. Thank you for your kind words. Relax and watch the magic happen. You have a very lucky beagle. Keep up the great work! Let us know how well he does. xox

      1. ANDI,

DO YOU SUGGEST SUPPLEMENTING WITH ORGANIC KELP POWDER. TWO OF MY BABIES LOW NORMAL THYROIDS. I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP THEM OFF OF PRESCRIPTION THYROID MEDS IF POSSIBLE. I HAVE READ THAT KELP POWDER IS GREAT FOR LOW THYROID LEVELS AND MANY MORE HEALTH PROBLEMS. IF SO, HOW MUCH FOR A 30 LB DOG. THANKS.

  8. Hi Andi,
I have 2 staffies and live in Australia. I found your Recipe for a beautiful coat online. One of my staffies had skin problems his whole life and started chewing his feed more and more. I started with the oil supplements 10 days ago and both now have the softest and shiniest coat ever. The feed chewing has stopped completely and his skin improved dramatically.
Thank you so much for that – I just received your book in the mail and can’t wait to start a new exciting healthy journey with my staffies 🙂

    1. Hi Kerstin, BRAVO for you to take your sweet ones into your own hands to make well. They are very lucky pups indeed and I’m so glad that you are getting such quick results! Thank you for sharing your story here. xoxox Andi

  9. One of my dachshunds reacts poorly to the wheat germ oil in the Recipe for a Beautiful Coat. I would like to make the extended 14 oil version (without wheat germ). Could you please provide quantities of each ingredient and perhaps a replacement for the dreaded wheat germ oil? Thank you.

      1. My poor Johnny rashes on his underside (inflamed, redness, and blistering in some spots) and inside his ear gets bright pink. His topside fur covered areas get rough/bumpy, like a hive type reaction. Solution: trial and error… Pick one ingredient to leave out. I made the mixture without wheat germ, and gave it a few days/week and his reaction went away. The other little guy still takes the wheat germ with no problem. We have color coded bottles for each one’s mixture.
By the way, they love the recipes for meals and snacks.

        1. Wow, Fran… You really have a great handle on Johnny and I applaud your detective work. Anything is truly possible. I would omit the wheatgerm oil from the recipe and give him a capsule of vitamin E as a supplement to the wheatgerm. Let’s see how that goes! keep us all posted! xoxo

    1. Hi Shirley, Unfortunately we are no longer making Best In Coat, but you can begin to make it yourself for the healthiest coat, skin and immune system on the planet! xoxo

  10. You suggested a capsule of vitamin E instead of wheat germ oil – how many units? I have a 10 lb min pin who’s 10 years old. I am staying away from grains and starchy carbs to help get rid of ear yeast – although I think the vet was wrong, since there is no odor in the ear or on the dog in general and I get out little grainy matter, and it could rather be mites.. he’s a rescue and I have a spotty history on him saying he has reoccurring yeast -ear infections.

TY! GOT YOUR book yesterday!!! The 2006.

    1. Hi Adrienne, So glad you got a copy of my book, and even though it says 2006 – if the back cover is of me lying down with my dog.. you have the most updated version. If you are making the recipe for beautiful coat… you should really follow the full formula for the best results. I don’t believe that the wheat germ oil will contribute in any way to the yeast problem. If you are ONLY trying/wanting to use vitamin e in place of the others… then go with the lowest dosage (100 iu?) and make notes, keep your journal and adjust accordingly. xox

  11. My dog seems to be allergic to her food. We have tried many kinds and brands from the pet store and a few bought from the Vet. She chews her feet, sheds big time and her ears get itchy and inflamed.I have decided to make her food from scratch and found your website in my research. I hope your recipes are just what she needs to be healthy.

    1. You and your dog are going to be the happiest and healthiest ever! DO NOT USE COMMERCIAL DOG FOOD EVER. The problems you mention are all about the food you’re feeding. I can’t wait for you to see the results! Keep us all posted! It wouldn’t hurt to get a copy of my book as well. You’ll totally “get” why these issues are happening. We’re really happy you’re making the changes. xox Andi
