Quick Snacks for the Smartest Dog or Cat

In my house, I always have ready-to-eat treats for my whole family, so when guests arrive (the four or two legged), I’m prepared with the best snacks on the planet.  The kind I’d eat myself, of course!

For Dogs:

*Make up some celery sticks and top them off with unsalted peanut butter or cottage cheese. Double dipping is allowed on this plate:)

*Try serving some carrots sticks (they’re great for keeping the teeth and gums healthy and clean)  If your dog is resistant at first, try a little dip of organic greek yogurt on top.  YUM

*Apple slices are always a happy snack. Juicy, sweet and oh-so-easy to eat!

* Green beans with a bit of butter keeps them coming back to you for more (helps digestion, too)

For Cats:

* A few refreshing cantaloupe balls (Spot’s all time favorite snack!)

* A whole, raw organic egg plain or beaten together well with organic yogurt or cottage cheese

*Organic, meat based baby food

*And the old time favorite for any well deserving cat: A few slivers of Sardines (fresh or frozen)

What could be better?  They’re all healthy and natural and liven up any party or event.

Send me your ideas for other healthy snacks, and we’ll post them here as well!

  1. I make frozen cubes out of organic whole milk yogurt. I’m pretty sure that the active cultures can survive the freezing process, and if nothing else, my dogs LOVE them!

Your pups are really lucky. It sounds yummy to me. Do the cubes stay solid, or do they get a little chewy? I want to try this one myself. But I’ll share with the dogs:)

    2. Great idea! The cultures definitely survive – I’ve made my own yogurt before and the cultures come frozen and stay in the freezer.

  2. I had to start giving Rupert Probiotics three times a day. I have tried all kinds of healthy things to add to the one dose that I give him at noon. Two of the doses I mix with his food but he has a weight issue so I don’t want to feed him too much. To solve the problem I mix the Probiotics with pumpkin and Greek yoghurt. A spoonful of each and he gobbles it up!!!!
