Important Dog and Cat Bathing Safety Tip

Bathing your dog or cat can often be stressful for both of you. Making your pets feel secure and comfortable while in the tub or the kitchen sink is as important as the natural shampoo you choose to get them clean. I like to use an organic castile soap from the health food store – adding lovely essential oils to help keep them flea free and smelling beautiful.

Before I ever give my pets a bath I always place a thick towel on the bottom of the sink or tub so they are able to grab onto the material and not slip and slide around. It will make them feel more secure and of course this will make the job easier for both of you. You’ll be surprised how much of a difference this makes in the bathing process. Be sure to always use comfortably warm water, keeping the spray nozzle close to the skin, so the water doesn’t splash all over and alarm them. Always thoroughly towel dry right away, so they don’t get chilled and you keep them calm and warm. Your holistic, clean pet will be a happier and healthier pet and that’s what we always strive for!

No time for a proper bath with soap and water?
